As the market expands with services like Khan Academy that clarify concepts, we realised no one targets the more popular market in India: helping students memorise. Our task was to create a learning aid for students in India, who have to memorise long texts for academic purposes.
As the market expands with services like Khan Academy that clarify concepts, we realised no one targets the more popular market in India: helping students memorise. Our task was to create a learning aid for students in India, who have to memorise long texts for academic purposes.
To understand the users needs, I decided to create a short questionnaire on Google Forms and on paper, and reached out to as many students as I could. I included questions the would help me gain an insight into the frustrations of students, and what might prove helpful to them.
After getting over a hundred responses online and on paper, I started creating an affinity diagram based on the responses. While it was a lot of data to work with, I was excited to study the trends and patterns. I was able to identify needs, pain points, challenges, and experiences. While there were a few trends that helped me validate some of my assumptions, there were a lot of new patterns that I uncovered.
